FINISHED quilts & Process Pledge Post

I finished TWO quilts yesterday!!!
Ragged Squares Quilt:

This quilt is one where the top (wonky) squares are raw edged, laid on top and sewn down. I did a stitch in the ditch throughout the quilts main squares and then did zig-zag quilting around each of the two center squares. I hated this quilt when I started quilting it, but the zig zag really gave it dimension and now I LOVE it!
Here's the backing:

I also finished the baby quilt for Downy Quilts for Kids...this thing was LONG overdue!

Last week I finished the baby quilt for Janice, the girl in my church who is pregnant. Her theme was Classic Pooh. I quilted around each of the scenes in the fabric. The backing is flannel!

Here is a quilt that I am just about done with. I have to go get my red thread from Lisa's house to put the binding on it and then it's done! This one is for Project Linus. I did a ton of quilting on this thing! I love how the quilting around the bear, rainbow and clouds made them all puffed up. :)

Here's the backing...I love scrappy pieced backings!

And here's the binding I am going to use with it:

Lisa and I each purchased this kit on our shop hop!! I am SO excited about this quilt project!!! It's all applique and the fabric is packaged individually for each block! We will work on it as a BOM:

Project Linus, Family and QUILTING!! Wonderful!!!

Last Saturday was Project Linus day at Joann's! We had a great time and I got to meet several women who do Project Linus blankets/quilts at home to bring in to us once per month!
After our time at Joann's we went and had a FABULOUS lunch at Atlantis. Here is a pic of the beautiful fountain there!
Speaking of Project Linus...I felt SO honored! Fran and Lucinda made me a WONDERFUL afghan! It's huge too! I LOVE LOVE LOVE IT!!!
This is it on my king size bed!
Here's a closeup of the yarn used. It's homespun!!

Sunday after service, we had a soup and salad buffet at church. It was wonderful! Bright colors to dash away the dreary winter!
Afterwards we went to Eddie and Nancy's and spent the evening with them...it was a GREAT Sunday!

Here is Hayleigh and Kyle playing....

Cody wasn't feeling so good and this is how he zonked out ;)

OK....quilting eye candy!!
Paper-pieced hearts I've been making. These were the Cafe Mom Quilting Mom's January challenge.

Here are my snowman blocks!! These are all applique!

Here is the absolute, very very first quilt I ever sewed on! This was a charity quilt for a missions trip to Peru. The trip ended up being cancelled and this quilt has well wishes and bible verses written all over it from the people of my old church in Florida. My pastor here is going to be taking a trip to Russia and will be taking this quilt with him...after our congregation adds their well wishes, of course! =)

I am getting really excited! I begin teaching my quilting classes THIS Friday! Yay! The # of people signed up has far exceeded my expectation! And I just completed my very first newsletter: "In Stitches" .

I am THRILLED at the amount of interest in learning the art of quilting! This is so much fun and it is so great to get together with other women!

I got blocks today!!! & Project Linus pics!

I got THREE!!! blocks in the mail today!!!!!!! (can you see me jumping around for joy?? lol)
Here is the one from the Quilting Bee, my theme is pinks and greens for this one:

And the wonderful lady who made it for me sent me fabric with it!!!!

And I got two more cat blocks!!!!!!! I love these! I love the diversity the swap gives.
This applique block is "Sunbonnet Sue, feeding the fish" =)

Here is a block I made for a lady in the Quilting Bee...her theme is red/black/white. This picture really misrepresents the red. It's a bold red with flowers printed on it.

Project Linus:
OK, here is a quilt Fran FINALLY finished! She has had it on her board for 3 or 4 years now! I am pushing her to get her UFO's done and she is game!

Here are several other quilts that we are working on/have completed:

Here is Lucinda crocheting an edge to a fleece blanket:

Here is Fran working on a wall hanging we are making as a gift for a very dear family leaving our church =(

And I'll leave you with a pic of my Jakers!! =) SEW cute!
