Trip to North Carolina, Part 2! Connestee Falls & Looking Glass Falls.

The next morning we got up and had a busy agenda planned! Our first stop, as we headed down the mountain was at Connestee Falls!

This was a cute little wooden bridge that was there.
My Mom and John have come to these falls every year for the past ten or so years. Until a year or two ago there was not a boardwalk that you had to stay on. It was a dirt path that you followed all the way down. The boardwalk stayed farther away from the falls, but it was still beautiful!
Joshy came with them to North Carolina a few years ago and they had memories from being here. Hearing those memories was awesome. :)

The really nice thing about Connestee Falls is that there was NO ONE else there! :)

Later we went to Looking Glass Falls...it was SO much fun! We had a great time crawling around and climbing out on the rocks!
heading down to the Falls

Even though it's sideways (does anyone know how to fix that!??) here is some video of Looking Glass Falls. I was trying to capture the sound for Ronnie!

And here is a video of Kyle climbing out across a huge fallen tree to a rock. It's hard to tell how steep it is from the pics ;)

Papa had to stay up top because of his knee :( He got to see everything we did though :)

I climbed out there too

and so did Nana!

 It's so beautiful!!
We had to wait for almost 30 mins to get to this spot for a great pic! There was a LINE of people waiting to go out onto this specific rock to get a pic with the Falls directly behind them.

the climb back up ;)
The falls were a really awesome experience. But....Triple Falls...where the Hunger Games were filmed are by far my favorite ones that we visited while there. Stay tuned for an upcoming blog about our time at Triple Falls.

Is it a boy ir a girl!?? And my step brother, Josh

In September my step brother, Johnny and his wife, Amanda held a gender-reveal party in Orlando! It was such a blast!!

I voted for the girl side!
All of us who thought it would be a girl, wore pink, while those who thought it would be a boy wore blue!

Kyle was decidedly undecided. :)

you can see Joshy and Meg in this pic :)

Here's Meg and Josh! They were recently engaged! They had been dating for 5 or so years and finally got engaged!

let's get ready to find out!!
The future parents!! They had the Dr. write the gender down on a piece of paper and mail it to the cake lady....Johnny and Amanda (and all of us too) are about to find out if they're having a boy or a girl!!
here we go....

IT's A GIRL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YAYYYYY!!

Now I can get started on a quilt!!

then we all gathered around to watch the video of their ultrasound~

Everyone chipped in to buy them their crib! So they received that and a few other gifts and cards...
Johnny received a daddy survival kit! LOL And he tried it on!!!!!

We were all ROLLING!

Thankfully Erin, Amanda's sister got us all in for a big family picture to remember this night by. Little did we know then, that it would be our last time together with Josh.
Family pic...Josh is back behind Meg :)
I am so thankful for the time spent together that night. Joshua was killed in a car accident the next night. I gave Joshy a big bear hug before leaving and told him I loved him. Even Ronnie gave him a man-hug that night. Kyle got to see his Uncle and even got a little word of advice from him...we all got to enjoy Josh's humor and love this night and we will forever miss him. He will be in our hearts, even as he is in heaven rejoicing with the King.

While we say goodbye to Josh, we prepare in happiness to welcome our little niece into the Chambers' family very soon!

CONGRATS to Amanda and Johnny! And take heed, Kyle...I'm sure one of your aunts will have a boy one of these days! LOL.
