Fabric Sale Purchases!

In an earlier post I mentioned a fabric sale that a local church had. A woman passed away and had more fabric, patterns, books, etc. than some quilt shops! They were selling her stash to help her husband cover the cost of her memorial. It took the ladies of the church's quilting group over 3 months to organize all of her things for the sale!  I am VERY excited about my purchases! You can see some really fun pictures of the actual fabric sale here.
Here's my goods!
I bought 7 different panels...although some have multiples, so I really got 10 or 11 for the price of 7!
cat panels!
too cute to pass up.
LOVE this panel! It's quilty.
There are actually 4 of these panels! YES!!
LOVE this! "Stash Management" panel!
close ups...check out these hilarious cartoons!

I also purchased 22 fat quarters! They were only 50 cents each!! These are $250-$3.00 in a quilt shop!
I LOVE fat quarters!!
I bought the 2 yards & up pieces for quilt backings. The one that is 1 yard actually correlates with some fabric I already had at home.

I found this great bag of 2 1/2" strips! over 150 strips for $5!! UN REAL!

I also found these blocks, already pieced...and then found the same fabric in the yardage rolls! I'll whip these together into a quilt in no time!

And these blocks are all ready to be sewn together into a sampler. I love the  "feel" of the colors in these!

And last but not least....I got three books and two patterns! $2/book $1/pattern! Can you believe those prices!??!

I'll end this post with a pic of Jacob...when I walked in the room, this is what I found :)
Makes me smile!

I started a new quilt! (and other pics) :)

Using this tutorial from Missouri Star Quilt Company, I started a new quilt this weekend! It's called Jelly Roll Race. I am SEW exciting about this! I had two mini-rolls....jelly roll strips but not an entire jelly roll...that I put together to create a full jelly roll! I LOVE these bright blues and greens and cannot wait to see the finished top!

We went to Eddie & Nancy's to watch the UFC fight on Saturday night and while the under card fights were on I sewed these strips together! It went really quickly!!

While I was working on that, Nancy was squaring up the blocks for this quilt...

I love the colors in her blocks!

While we were sewing, the guys were watching UFC:

And the kids were having a blast playing!

Some of Hayleigh's horse collection! She loves her horses!!
Hayleigh was hilarious! She put the boxing gloves on her feet and they looked like clown shoes! LMBO!

Family fun!

I know I have already posted about my week this past week, but I never got around to blogging about the previous week.
Ronnie's oldest brother, Mark, and his family moved down from South Carolina about a month or so ago. They have 5 children! So now I have a whole gaggle of nieces and nephews to enjoy! Each morning Mark & Michelle come over with Aaliyah & little Mark before school. So Kyle gets to play with them for about 30 minutes each and every morning. (You should see how much easier it is to get him ready for school when he knows that if he is ready he can play :))
These pics are on a Thursday morning (week before last, 4/12)

there's the smile :)
Then on Friday I went over to see my Ahma. She was going to be moved into an assisted living home the following Wednesday (which was this past week) and I wanted to be sure and see her first. I got some pics of her and her dog, Little-Bit.

love my Ahma :)
Then Friday night, Kyle had his first basketball game on his new team, the Spurs. He just started playing for the Y. He was so thrilled that they had a season after the City's season ended.
My Dad and Chris came out to watch Kyle play :)

I love that the Y does a prayer before the game!
After the game the men had to try and play. it was hilarious!

Here's a video I took of the 4 of them trying to play, LOL! I was cracking up!

After the Y, we came home and Ronnie, Kyle & Dad watched the Nationwide Series race. I was exhausted and went to bed...but not before snapping a pic of my three favorite guys in all the world!

Saturday night we had Eddie & Nancy over and had a great time! Nancy and I sewed, Eddie & Ronnie watched the race (it was a Sat night race) and the kids played!

As you can see, that weekend was very busy, but lots of fun! I am so thankful that we have so many family members so close by now! I LOVE IT!
