New Years Eve

So...It's New Years Eve.....ten minutes and we'll be in 2008...my hubby and son are conked out on the air mattress in the living room. They're "camping out" tonight, lol.
Today was an awesome day...we had a great day in school. Kyle is so incredible! One of his words this week is 'like'--so I explained how it has a long i and a silent e....he sat there and processed that and then said "Mommy, my name has a silent e, right? cause if it didn't then it would sound like kyleh...but it's silent so it is just kyle".
It's so awesome to watch him grasp something. :)

I made an AWESOME dinner tonight....I made venison cube steak--rolled it in flour then browned it up in butter in the skillet---then put it in the oven in brown gravy for two hours at a low tempature.....it was FALLING APART delicious! I also made collard greens..bought a huge bundle, pulled everything off that needed to go and made an awesome mixture for them to boil and simmer in for about two hours as well. I served rice with dinner. It was really an incredible meal.

I started making my skirt tonight!! I'm quite impressed with myself!! It is actually turning out to look like something I will be able to wear!!! :) (Unlike my poor hubby's pj pants that I made him for Christmas, lmbo). I will have to get some pics up here once I finish the skirt. I think I will be able to finish it completely tomorrow!

Ope, gotta go...2 mins til fireworks, gotta wake up the boys!

Ready for tomorrow

So, today was a pretty good day. I made pancakes from scratch for Ronnie and Kyle this morning. Church was really awesome and was totally a message I needed to hear. Getting tied back in and bringing God back into every decision. I think I was drifting away a little and it's good to hear a strong message that puts things back into perspective and brings you back to where you need to be.

School starts again tomorrow. I'm really excited about that. Our thematic lesson this week will be on manners & honesty...it's always a good thing to review, and with being out of school for the last two weeks, it's a good idea to ease back into our routine. We are also starting on identifying coins. We will continue reading and doing addition as well. Next week we will probably start subtraction since Ky has had several weeks of addition and has a great understanding of it. We have several critical thinking activities this week as well! :)

Ronnie is off Tuesday, so he will get to sit in on school.... Ky's excited about that.

I had Starbucks today!! YAY :) I know its probably not a big deal to most of you, however, Starbucks is one of my fav treats in the world and it is just not in the budget anymore....but I got a couple gift cards for Christmas!!! So treat myself I did.

I'm excited also about a new bible study that is starting on Thursday's...Its Stormie O'Martian's book Power of a Praying Woman. Most of you know that her book Power of a Praying Wife was absolutely life changing for me....so I know this will be a great bible study. And it is only for 10 weeks, so I know the commitment is doable for me.

Anyways, hope everyone enjoyed their Sunday!! God Bless....

Soooooooooooo...new to blogging

Ok, so here we are...signing up for a blog website, lol.
With so many things going on in everyone's life, it truly is a way to stay up to date and in touch--as well as a really cool way to journal!
Christmas is over.....the rush of the holiday is gone.....thank God--forgive me, but is anyone else sighing relief at this knowledge? New Year's is around the bend...and then we have a break til Easter.........phew.
Well, lots of life changes to reflect over as I look back at 2007....wow. I went from a working executive at 50+ hours a week making tons of money to a stay at home mom who homeschools her child and is learning to sew and knit...and living on a really tight budget, lol.....and I LOVE my life now. I wouldn't go back for the world!
I am thinking up a few resolutions...reasonable ones that I can keep.
Well...enough for the first blog, I guess....we start school back up Monday! I can't wait....it's been a long two weeks off and we are ready to get back into our routine.
Love to everyone....I'm excited about this blog thing! Write if you want! :)
